Pump chump fed up with fill-ups, president and Congress
(Column ~ 03/14/08)
Feeling like a chump at the pump? Fed up when you fill up? Oil company profits got you digging deeper into your pockets? Well, it's likely that they're scamming us, and it's likely that they know that we likely know that they're likely scamming us. They (and we) also know that there's not a darn thing that we can do about it now, or in the foreseeable future...

I think I'll wear green on Monday
(Column ~ 03/14/08)
St. Patrick's Day is Monday. There will be parades and celebrations in several cities in the United States where the Irish immigrants have left a rich heritage that is still remembered. No parades down Main Street are planned around here. I haven't found any Irish neighborhoods in Greene County but this is a true melting pot so there's some Irish blood here, somewhere...

Council should have voted on youth center
(Column ~ 03/14/08)
Shame on the Linton City Council members who could have at least seconded the youth center grant application resolution and went on record with a vote. Shame on the few who were against the project. Is it not obvious that you have no children? Do you really think safety has nothing to do with your own backyard and everything to do with some other place on the map?...

City council members offer concerns about youth center location
(Local News ~ 03/14/08)
The Linton City Council may have publicly stressed its commitment to the local youth, but why did it fail to take any action on the $500,000 youth center grant application Monday night? An overwhelmingly outpour of public support at the meeting in favor of the renovation of the Conservation Club into a youth center did not convince the Linton City Council to even bring the motion to a vote...
