  • * It's official: Sipes is the new District 2 County Commissioner (Local News ~ 04/19/08)
    Greene County has a new county commissioner. Saturday morning Democrat Precinct Committeemen gathered in caucus at Humphreys Park in Linton and selected Bill Sipes, of rural Bloomfield, as District 2 Commissioner. Sipes, who is not a candidate in the upcoming May 6 Primary Election, will fill out the term of former commissioner -- the late Larry Hasler.
  • Rural Bloomfield man faces multiple charges after he flees scene of wreck (Local News ~ 04/19/08)
    A 49-year-old rural Bloomfield man was arrested Friday night and jailed on eight felony and misdemeanor charges after he allegedly earlier left the scene of a property damage traffic accident a short distance from the Greene County Jail. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Chris McDonald, with assistance from county reserve deputies and the Lyons Police Department, apprehended Ricky R. Lawrence, Route 4, Bloomfield, at 10:52 p.m...
