Eastern Greene's Lindsey Stevens will be making a return trip to the state finals this year as she advanced in the 300 meter hurdles. The senior was the Bedford North Lawrence Regional champion in the event with a time of 47.08. Fifty years ago, when The Bloomfield News came out every Thursday, at the top of page 1 it declared "Published in the Community of Opportunity" and the price to have it delivered by mail was $2 per year. I always liked the News even better than the daily papers -- it had a tight layout that was a synopsis of everything important in one neat package. It was my great-grandma's paper of choice. If she read it in the News then it must be so...
