The Shawnee Theatre's 49th season will now open two days later than expected due to flooding. The season was scheduled to open on Thursday June 12th with Godspell, but Mother Nature had other ideas. One lane of State Road 67 south out of Worthington has been re-opened this morning. One lane of traffic is reported by the Indiana Department of Transportation with flaggers present and a long line of traffic waiting to get through. The roadway, opened about 10 a.m. It has been closed since Saturday. Meanwhile, the Greene County Highway Department reports the re-opening of two area roads that were closed because of flood waters.

Flood victims got a measure of relief Wednesday when DNR Director Robert E. Carter, Jr. announced an emergency rule that temporarily suspends permit requirements for certain reconstruction activities and debris removal in flooded areas. "Gov. Mitch Daniels has directed state agencies to act quickly to provide relief to Hoosiers affected by the recent severe weather," Carter said. "In issuing this emergency rule, DNR is expediting the process of rebuilding communities hardest hit this week."...

The state of emergency that Greene County has been under for the last eight days has been extended for another seven days. The extension will give officials more time to assess the damages and continue with response as a prelude to actual recovery efforts. Greene County Board of Commissioners President Bart Beard signed a new emergency declaration Wednesday morning. It's been nine days now since the first of two tornadoes touched down in an around Bloomfield. The first emergency declaration was made June 4, just hours after a second confirmed tornado hit in Bloomfield.
