Jimmy L. Shepler, 74, of Sullivan, passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday June 17, 2008 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Sullivan on Dec. 22, 1933 to Fred Shepler, and Anna Ridge Shepler. A neighborhood meeting designed to give Linton residents a voice concerning the needs of its aging adults will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Roy Clark Building in Linton's Humphreys Park. A former Linton business owner was sentenced Tuesday to seven years in prison with three years suspended for his part in what the judge calls a "crime of violence" that unfolded last July. Anthony J. "Tony" Niebrugge, 38, of Linton, was sentenced in Greene Superior Court to jail time with the Indiana Department of Corrections (DOC) plus three years of probation. He was also assessed fines and court costs on a class C felony count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Greene County Queen Contest meeting There will be a meeting of the candidates for Miss Greene County at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
