Nicholas B. Munden, 6 months and one day old, of Portage, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008. Nicholas was born on March 28, 2008 in Valparasio to Ronald Brett and Jessica Ann (Tauchman) Munden. Stanley D. (Jiggs) Ridge, 70, of Paxton, passed away Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Sullivan County on Feb. 23,1938 to Andrew Ridge and Jennie Ladson Ridge. He retired from the Operating Engineers Local No. 841. Our Opinion: County Council needs to reconsider new IT postion's salary

The Greene County Council approved a new, full-time position for 2009 at its meeting Monday afternoon -- a computer technican/IT network administrator. It's a step in the right direction for the county. Currently, the county has a contract with IT consultant Randy Cleaver of Martinsville to service its computers. He works two days a week, and is paid $60 per hour. According to a county official, Cleaver has been paid approximately $51,000-$55,000 each of the past two years for his services...

Foote to be sentenced Oct. 31 on molesting, incest charges
