Mabel M. Allen, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 2, 2008 at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis. Born Oct. 7, 1924 in Koleen, she was the daughter of Elbert R. and Dottie N. (Fesler) King. She was an assembly worker at RCA in Bloomington for 20 years and retired. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 538 in Bloomfield, and the Past Matrons Club No. 538 and member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church...

Habitual traffic offender charge filed against Linton man

A preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while being an habitual traffic violator, a class D felony, was filed Friday against Matthew D. Moore, 30, Linton. Moore was arrested on Sept. 26 after he was stopped by a Linton police officer. In the probable cause affidavit, Cpl. Paul F. Clark, II, wrote that when he was on patrol around 1:19 p.m., he saw Moore driving a black 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on State Road 54 near NW 5th St...

Bloomfield man handed three year sentence

A Bloomfield man appeared at a sentencing hearing Friday morning before Senior Judge Elizabeth Mann in Greene Superior Court and was handed a total of three years in the Greene County Jail. Scott D. Stahl was ordered to serve 1 1/2 years of a suspended sentence followed by another 1 1/2 years for class D felony criminal mischief. He was also ordered to pay $5,383.08 restitution to Greene County General Hospital for damages he caused while he was being treated in the emergency room...

Woman's car recovered north of Worthington

A car stolen from the parking lot of the Linton library late Thursday afternoon was found abandoned north of Worthington later in the evening. Holly Cox of Linton reported her car as stolen around 5 p.m. Cox had parked her blue 1991 Pontiac Grand Am in the lot of the Linton Public Library around 4:30 p.m. She then went into a chiropractor's office.
