Break-in reported at Linton church

The Linton Police Department reported early Tuesday that a break-in occurred at the 12th St. Church of God on SW 12th St. sometime after 7 p.m. on Sunday. The incident was reported to the police around 9 a.m. on Monday, after it was discovered. Greene County elected officials took their oaths of office on Tuesday morning in a ceremony at the courthouse in Bloomfield. It was day for handshakes, hugs, posing for photographs and goodwill wishes. The event is largely ceremonial and is not required to take office. Thursday (Jan. 1), the job of each officeholder gets underway officially.
