No. 1 -- Area hit by record floods By Anna Rochelle STAFF WRITER Greene County was declared a disaster area in June 2008 after record rainfall caused the rivers to rise to levels not seen in over 100 years -- it was the "Great Flood of 2008." A 32-year-old woman who allegedly walked out of the Linton WalMart store with several different items, without paying for them, was arrested late on New Year's Day. Kimberly L. An accident in Linton on New Year's Day was caused by a woman who got a boot stuck on the accelerator pedal then could not stop her vehicle before it crashed into an oncoming truck. Sarah J. Corn, 59, Linton, was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla four-door passenger car on State Road 54 and was turning south onto NE 10th St. when the accident occurred around 6:37 p.m...

Linton resident Mike Hennette was busy at work on his first official day as the new Greene County Highway Department Superintendent on Friday.
