Owensburg man faces charges

Brian Shane Davidson, 33, Owensburg, was arrested Thursday by Indiana State Police Trooper Ryan S. Miller on a warrant issued in connection with two preliminary charges of class D felony battery resulting in bodily injury to minors. The arrest came as a result of an investigation by Trooper Miller after he was contacted by Frank Minton of the Monroe County Department of Child Services about a report of child abuse in Greene County.

Rollins may make return trip to jail

Brandon D. Rollins, a nineteen-year-old Solsberry man who was just released from custody on Tuesday after posting a $64,000 bond, may be making a return trip to the Greene County Jail. Warrants were issued early Friday for the arrest of Rollins and two other men, Kevin M. Ford and Donald Rollins. The preliminary charges filed on Thursday in Greene Superior Court against all three men include burglary, a class D felony, and theft, a class D felony. In addition, another preliminary charge of possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor, has been filed against Ford.

UPDATED BREAKING NEWS: No charges to be filed in rural Bloomfield shooting

No criminal charges will be filed in connection with an August, 2008 shooting that claimed the life of Everette "Mike" Smith, of rural Bloomfield. Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw announced Friday afternoon that 39-year-old Bobby L. Gunter was justified in the shooting of Smith, 58, who died from a gunshot wound to the head that was inflicted on Aug. 7 in a property-line dispute just off County Road 950E.
