Information on Communities CAN-Project Success was provided during the February monthly meeting of the Bloomfield School Board Regina Hildenbrand, program director, shared the details. Communities CAN is funded through a $1.5 million federal grant and is aimed at reducing alcohol abuse by placing social workers/counselors in each school in the county, she explained. Safe stolen from home in Newberry - GCSD investigating

The Greene County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate a weekend burglary in Newberry in which a heavy safe was stolen from a residence. Deputy J. Aaron Smith reports the residence of Marion Jackson on E. 4th St. in Newberry was entered on Saturday but there was no sign of forced entry into the home...
