Bloomfield School Board receives update on soccer

Adding soccer to the Bloomfield School District's athletic program was a topic of discussion during the April meeting of the Bloomfield School Board. Athletic Director Monica Abernathy provided the requested information during the discussion. After contacting the Greene County Soccer Association, Abernathy found out that the organization would allow the school to use its field free of charge, have concessions and make gate money -- which would be given to the first school to establish soccer as a sport.. ...

Lyons man questions Axe quote To the Editor: I couldn't help but notice the incredibly ignorant statement in a recent edition of the Viewpoints page in Nick Schneider's column about the Columbine shooting. I realize that he was quoting Roger Axe when he said "it could happen here because of the accessibility of firearms and the social acceptance of guns in Greene County.
