The legislative year is over. The extraordinary special session is finished. Disaster was averted and some semblance of reason prevailed. I voted "no" on the budget. It spends too much money on frills and nonessential projects. The budget neglects our district and shortchanges our children...

It was good to talk to you last night. I forget there are people who don't know about our July 4th traditions, so I thought I would fill you in. July 4th is preceded by everyone cleaning up their places. The city paints all of the curbs, cleans the grass from the parade route, and puts flags on all of the street light poles along the route. ...
