Lyons man involved in fatal traffic accident

Two Oblong, Ill., men died in a traffic accident on Indiana 67 north of Bicknell at 6:40 a.m. today. Stephen C. Postlewait, 19, and John A. Griffin, 38, of Oblong, Ill. were pronounced dead at the scene after their vehicle, driven by Postlewait, crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by Jerry M. Summerville, 59 of Lyons, according to a Knox County Sheriff's Department press release...

Greenwood hunter sentenced on battery charge

Cummings, 31, of Greenwood, the hunter convicted of battery upon a Greene County man last November, reported to the Greene County Jail on Thursday to begin serving a sentence which included several conditions. Greene Superior Court Judge Dena A. Martin sentenced Cummings on Wednesday to one year in the county jail with all but 70 of those days suspended...

Applications now being received for fifth Citizen's Academy class
