Eastern Greene School District is closed Monday and the rest of county schools are on a two-hour delay. Linton-Stockton,Bloomfield, White River Valley, Eastern Greene and MSD of Shakamak school districts are on a two-hour delay this morning (Monday) following the area's first measurable snowfall.

LPD takes part in Family Travel enforcement blitz

The Linton Police Department recently wrapped up a state-sponsored Safe Family Travel enforcement blitz -- which focused on seat belt safety. Linton Police Chief Troy Jerrell explained, "It was an Operation Pullover for seat belts. ... It was promoted and paid for by the state. By being involved it opens up more grant opportunities. Linton to offer body safety program

Police looking for man who attempted to get into house with gun

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Charles A. Rentschler. He's accused of attempting to kick in the door of a rural Bloomfield man's house on Oct. 29, while holding a gun, then attempting to light the seat of the man's truck on fire. According to a probable cause affidavit, Rentschler then fled the scene but as he was leaving, he allegedly ran into a truck that was parked in the yard, then ran into the man's porch, breaking two support columns and cracking the roof...
