Benefit dinner for youth programs A benefit dinner for youth programs will be from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the Bloomfield High School cafeteria. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children 4 and under are free. An Adult Winter Reading Program is in full swing at the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library. Kids are usually the ones who win prizes for reading books, but Director John Helling says adult readers are going to get a chance this winter. "It started this month, in January," said Helling. Benefit will help teenager

Grant helps LPD add 11th officer

The Linton Police Department has a new officer on the street. Patrol Officer Thomas Jerrels recently joined the force to bring the total number of full-time LPD officers serving Linton to 11.
