Wilson upsets Gainey in coroner's race

In an unexpected upset, Sherri S. Wilson beat Brian F. Gainey in the race for Greene County Coroner. Wilson, the Republican challenger, won by 364 votes, or 3.78 percent of the total of 9,612 votes in the race, over Gainey, the Democrat incumbent. As the tallies from precincts around the county started coming in, it was not apparent early on how the race was going to shake out, but after the final precinct came in, Gainey came up short...

Two-term incumbent Democrat Bart Beard was soundly defeated by Republican Rick Graves for the District 3 Commissioners seat in Tuesday's General Election. Ubelhor defeats Blanton in State District 62 race; Borders and Waterman reelected

There was a definite Republican trend in Tuesday's General Election in state lawmaker races. District 62 State Representative In the District 62 House race, Republican challenger Matt Ubelhor, of rural Bloomfield, topped incumbent Sandy Blanton of Paoli by a wide 2,425 vote margin.
