Elderly woman raped, confined, threatened; Suspect behind bars

Police have been investigating the rape and confinement of a 78-year-old rural Greene County woman that started during the early morning hours and continued into the afternoon on Thursday, Oct. 28. A suspect is behind bars. Alex C. Callison, 28, Bloomfield, was wanted on a parole violation and was taken into custody on Sunday, Oct. 31 and booked into the Greene County Jail by Indiana State Police Detective Stacy Brown.....

Donald R. Sparks

Donald R. 'Sparky' Sparks, 62, of Linton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born December 19, 1947 and was raised by his mother and step-father, Olif 'Whitey' Carrico and Virginia (Sparks) Carrico-Charlton. Donnie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a laborer working in various fields, most recently at Carson-Firkins. He was a member of Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.
