The city of Linton is working on its emergency siren today, and will test it periodically until it's fixed. A police department spokesperson stated that the city isn't sure how long it will take to fix.

Warren "Heavy" Sexton, 70, of Jasonville died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born March 6, 1940 at home in Jasonville, the son of Walter R. Sexton and Lillian (Easter) Sexton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild...

A 44-year-old Linton man, Jack F. Sumner, is being held in the Greene County Jail since he allegedly was driving while under the influence and fled from police when they tried to pull him over. One more felony has been added to the list of charges Brian M. Bastin is facing when he goes to trial next month, accused of the attempted murder of Erik Tosti near Newark in June. Bastin, from Bloomington, 32-years-old at the time of his arrest, was arraigned on July 1 in Greene Superior Court on five felonies: (1) attempted murder, a class A felony; (2) unlawful possession of a firearm by a seriously violent offender, a class B felony; (3) dealing in methamphetamine, a class B felony; (4) robbery with a deadly weapon, a class B felony; and (5) obstruction of justice, a class D felony.. ...
