It's nearly time for the newly elected and re-elected county officials to get down to work. Their respective four-year terms begin in just a few days on Jan. 1. In a simple, informal ceremony Monday morning at the Greene County Courthouse in Bloomfield the officials took their oaths of office -- swearing or affirming to uphold the Indiana Constitution, the United States Constitution and carry out the duties of their specific offices. Greene Circuit Judge Erik Allen and Superior Court Judge Dena Martin administered the oaths in the Circuit Courtroom to five new county-wide officeholders -- Auditor Matt Baker, Assessor Willard Neill, Recorder Stuart Dowden, Clerk Susan Fowler, and Coroner Sherry Wilson.
