Linton Mayor Tom Jones said he is elated with a recent tour of the city that involved representatives of state agencies. He also shared additional details on the Thursday morning event in an interview with the Greene County Daily World. "It went well. People from OCRA (Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs) and Indiana Housing Authority took a tour of the community and got to see all the things we're doing," Jones said. "It was a very good meeting. I appreciate the people coming."...

A Linton lady believes that she's right where God wants her to be. Martha Roach is the long-time treasurer and coordinator of the Linton Community Food Pantry. She started out in 2004 and as the pantry expanded, so did her duties. She explained, "I was really thinking that I needed to get involved at the church more. They called me one day and wanted to see if I wanted to be treasurer. I think they were shocked when I said yes."...

Margaret "Maggie' McNabb, 94, of Worthington passed away 11:19 a.m. Friday morning, Jan. 14, 2011, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Maggie was born June 27, 1916, in Switz City, to Clyde and Inez (Hulen) Stough. She was a cook at Worthington-Jefferson School for 37 years, and at most restaurants in Worthington. She was a member of the Nazarene Church...
