April Dawn Corns, 49, of Linton, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born in Linton on May 29, 1962 to David and Nola (Goodson) Rose. April was a homemaker. Survivors include her two sons, Chris (Angel) Corns of Bloomfield and Kevin Corns of Linton; daughter, Amanda (Travis) Dunn of Washington; her mother, Nola Irene Rose of Linton; two brothers, Robert (Janet) Rose and Travis (Carrie) Rose, both of Linton; and two sisters, Darla (Glen) Damron of Linton and Datona Stewart of Marco; and three grandchildren.. ... -

Shakamak High School has recently received an award in recognition of a substantial increase in its graduation rate percentage. The Indiana Department of Education (INDOE) awarded 12 Indiana schools with up to $20,000 for the Graduation Performance Incentive Program.
