Sheryl Lynn Clark, 65, of Dugger, passed away at 6:52 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Sullivan County on Dec. 19, 1946, the daughter of Everett Clark and Norma Mize Clark. She was a loving mother and dear friend. Robert E. White Robert E. White, 88, of Linton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011 at Linton Nursing Home. He was born on April 18, 1923, in Washington, Ind., to Charles E. and Laura M. (Raney) White. Bob worked as a bookkeeper for the Southern Music Company in Indianapolis and at the Crane Naval Base in the Ordinance Department for 12 years. He also worked at the Fairview Cemetery as the sexton for 12 years before retiring in 1991. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He served with the Naval Intelligences of the Pacific Fleet Headquarters in the Pacific Theater and upon returning to the states from over seas, he served in the Pentagon in Washington D.C. until his discharge with a host of accommodations. Bob was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, the Linton Loyal Order of the Moose, Past Commander of the American Legion Post 22, VFW Post 7118 and a Life Member of DAV. His hobbies included watching all sports programs, especially baseball and also a member of the wrestling team at Bedford High School. Survivors include his brother, H. Richard White of Linton and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles H., Ralph W. White and one sister, Susie Davis. A graveside service will be Wednesday, Dec. 28 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Full military graveside rites will be presented by the American Legion Post 22. Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
