Steve D. "Moose" Jackson (Obituary ~ 01/28/12)
Steve D. "Moose" Jackson, 48, of Linton, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital, Newburgh, Ind. He was born Feb. 19, 1963 in Linton to Larry E. and Janice (Douthitt) Jackson. Steve married Kimberly D. Lynch on June 25, 1982. Moose was a truck driver for Home Run Trucking. He formerly worked at Rice's Building Supply for 13 years as yard foreman. He had also worked for Abrams and Hawkins in Sullivan. His hobbies included attending car shows to show his hearse, helping kids at Cruzers' Roller Rink, and gardening. Survivors include his wife, Kim; son, Mick Jackson of Linton; his father, Larry Jackson of Linton; mother-in-law, Hallie (Lester) Trimble of Ala.; and special family friends, Michelle (Brock) Ellis, Michael Allen Fisher, Lacey Ann Fisher, Brady Ellis and Bob (Kim) Conley. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Jackson (Sept. 22, 1987) and sister, Susan Olson (Jan. 3, 2012). The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in memory of Steve "Moose" Jackson. Friends called at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, and today from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Funeral service will be today, Jan. 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Dugger.
