Duane R. Kaffenberger, 73, of Bloomfield, entered into rest with his Heavenly Father on Thursday April, 5. Born Nov. 27, 1938 in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of John B. and Anna M. (Lohnes) Kaffenberger. He worked as a mechanical engineer in Anaheim, Calif., for Rockwell International (which later became Boeing). He retired in 1994 after 38 years. Even though he never wore a military uniform, he did his part by proudly supporting numerous military programs throughout his career; he was a member of the Sons of The American Legion (SAL) in Bloomfield. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who truly loved his family and cherished each moment he spent with them. He will be sorely missed not only by his family but by the many friends he had. He worshiped his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the Bloomfield First Christian Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Kaffenberger, whom he married on Feb. 4, 1989; five sons, Steve Kaffenberger (Lori) of Corona, Calif., David Kaffenberger of Bakersfield, Calif., Brad Myers of Bloomington, Bryan Myers (Betsy) of Bloomfield, and Brent Myers of Evansville; five grandchildren, Cody and Chelsey Kaffenberger of Corona, Calif., Savannah Myers of Bloomington, and Ruby and Lola Myers of Bloomfield; sister-in-laws Brenda Pridemore and Kathleen Neill (Garry) and mother-in-law Donna Miller all of Bloomfield. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday April 12 at the Bloomfield First Christian Church officiated by the Rev. Dave Wilde. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
