Greene County Health Department Food Service Establishment Inspections On a periodic basis the Greene County Health Department will furnish recent inspection reports to the Greene County Daily World for publication as a public service to patrons. Violations are broken into two categories: critical and noncritical. A critical violation is defined as an issue that could be directly related to making someone sick. A noncritical violation doesn't have a direct relation to food-borne illness.

Rural Linton man convicted of marijuana possession

A rural Linton man, who plead guilty of possession of nearly two pounds of marijuana, has completed the jail executed part of his sentence. Troy D. Roberts, 39, of Route 1, Linton, was sentenced in Greene Circuit Court for possession of marijuana over 30 grams to 180 days in jail with 174 days suspended. He was given credit for one day previously served in jail -- meaning the executed part of his sentence amounted to two days in jail. Roberts was placed on probation for 174 days...

Bloomfield woman gets 10-year prison term for 'meth' dealing

A 22-year-old Bloomfield woman was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for a dealing methamphetamine conviction. Jessica Beall was sentenced Friday in Greene Superior Court as part of a negotiated plea agreement to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Correction, with four years suspended.
