The Linton Police Department is investigating an attempted armed robbery that unfolded Monday morning at the Smoker's Host store. The male suspect, in his 20s, allegedly walked into the store, located at 309 A St. NW, about 9:20 a.m., displayed a box cutter and demanded cash from a female clerk, according to Linton Police Chief Troy Jerrell. "He (the suspect) threatened to cut her if she didn't go along with his request," Jerrell said.
