Jalia Gay, 75, of Switz City, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Greene County General Hospital. Born Dec. 6, 1936 in Altro, Kentucky, Jalia was the daughter of James and Callie Collins. She worked at RCA, Kellers, and in home healthcare. She and her husband, Thomas Gay, Switz City, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in May of 2013. They had known each other since childhood and had lived in Switz City for 42 years...

Jasonville family escapes early morning fire Thursday

A Jasonville family escaped an early morning fire unhurt after one of the parents woke up and smelled smoke. The fire was reported at 1:24 a.m. at the Dennis Smith residence, located at 120 North Horace Street. The home is owned by Pat Hudson.
