UPDATED: Eastern Greeene County man dies in mobile home fire

A rural eastern Greene County man died early Sunday morning in a mobile home fire ---- the first fatality for the Eastern Fire Department in more than 50 years of service. The victim has been tentitively indentified as Kevin P. Ford, 45, who lived in the mobile home, according to Greene County Coroner Sherry Wilson. She said the victim's identification is pending verification of dental records. An autopsy was conducted on Monday at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. Cause of death has yet to be determined, she said. Wilson said it appeared Ford's body was discovered in the bedroom of the heavily damaged mobile home. The fire at 13789 East Uland Court was reported at 4:59 a.m. When Eastern's first fire unit arrived the mobile home was fully engulfed. "The trailer's roof had almost completely collapsed prior to the fire departments arrival," Combs stated.
