Event raises money for Union scholarships

The final fundraiser for the Union High School class of 2013 raised $1,300 and launched two new memorial scholarships at the April 13 pancake breakfast hosted by Dugger Dollars for Scholars. Chester and Phyllis Murphy-Patton, two of the non-profit organization's largest donors, donated money specifically for a pancake breakfast making this event 100% profit for the soon-to-be graduates...

The National Association of Letter Carriers will be collecting non-perishable food items in Linton and Bloomfield on May 11 for the "Stamp Out Hunger" National Food Drive. Linton Post Office Food Drive Coordinator Mary Ison explained residents are asked to fill a grocery sack with non-perishable food items, including canned fruit and vegetables, soup, juice, pasta, cereal, and other items.
