Denis L. Bays, 87, of Bloomfield, passed away at 10:01 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was born on June 15, 1925 in Bloomfield, the son of Ernest Bays and Inez (Fuller) Bays. Denis was a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served his country proudly in World War II. After serving in the Army, he worked for the Navy at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center and retired after a 33-year career. His interest in service and politics then led him to an elected position as a Greene County Commissioner.
