Honored officer carried out dramatic flash flood rescue in December

Indiana Conservation Master Officer Mike Gregg recently conducted a night-time rescue of a woman, who was trapped in a mobile home with rising flood waters already inside the residence. It happened on the night of Dec. 22, 2013. A woman in her 30s was trapped in her mobile home by rising flash flood waters from Richland Creek on Washboard Road in eastern Greene County. "She was standing in water on her couch," Officer Mike Gregg told the Greene County Daily World. "Normally, you are working out of boat, but I couldn't get to where she was at by boat without going out into Richand Creek, which in the dark was just extremely dangerous. It (the water) was just rushing down through there all of the trees and debris in the water."
