The Linton Police Department responded to seven calls and incidents on Monday, December 1, including four assists to the public, and one traffic stop.

December 2 -- Troy David Breedlove, 34, Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of auto theft and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent allowed. Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff Brown was the arresting officer...

The driver in a crash involving one vehicle on Tuesday morning was transported to an Indianapolis hospital with injuries. Jordan R. Tharp, 24, Linton, was driving a white 2010 Toyota Yaris soutbound on US 231 south of Bloomfield when an accident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m...

The post service is doing their part for the holiday rush by delivering parcels seven days a week through Christmas to major cities and high-volume areas throughout the Greater Indiana District due to continued double-digit package volume growth. BLOOMFIELD -- The Greene County Commissioners gave the final approval for the purchase of a new ambulance for the Greene County Ambulance Service during the regular meeting of the commissioners on Tuesday morning. The new unit, a 2014 Chevy 350 Type III (box-type) ambulance by McCoy Miller, will include an ECS Kenwood 700 digital mobile radio and cost the county just over $108,000. Funding for the purchase will come from the EMS Equipment Fund which currently has a balance of just over $137,000...

Pizza Hut Wabash Valley Classic tickets are on sale at Shakamak High School athletic office. Price for a season ticket is $20. These tickets are good for each session of the four day tourney. There will be 28 games involving 16 Wabash Valley teams...

Linton-Stockton defeated visiting North Central 50-20 in a seventh grade boys basketball game recently. Kip Fougerousse led the Miners with 11 points while Brady Smith and Devyn Robertson each scored nine. Trevor Dyer had four and Luke Lannan, Dylan Smith and Clay Hauser scored three apiece...

The Linton-Stockton eighth grade boys squad lost to South Knox 45-34. Leading scorers were Sammy Robbins with 11 points, Evan Slover and Jalen Boyll each had six points; Silas Robbins four, Kaleb Crane three and Dane Witty and Jacob Goodwin both scored two.
