Former firefighter facing child molesting charges

A former Richland Township firefighter is in Greene County Jail facing three felony child molesting charges. Adam B. Carver, 37, of Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts Class C felony child molesting and Class A felony child molesting where the child is under 14 years old. Mildred L. Cooksey-Shake, age 75, of Linton, passed away on Monday morning, June 6, 2016, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Linton on Sept. 7, 1940, the daughter of Paul V. and Lucille (Stuppy) Cooksey. She was a graduate from Midland High School. Mildred was a coal miner for many years for Amax Coal Company. She also worked as a bartender at the Blue Room and American Legion, both in Jasonville. She hauled the Amish when living in Odon.
