Since the retirement at the end of the 2015-16 school year of Spanish/French teacher Brenda Roach, a 29-year employee at Bloomfield Jr./Sr. High School, the availability of dual credit courses in these subjects for students has been uncertain. The school's current Spanish teacher, Bianca Tolbert, holds a bachelor's in Spanish, and is currently working on obtaining her masters degree at Indiana University. ...

Jasonville council moves to purchase well property

The Jasonville City Council has agreed on a final offer price for a property to construct water wells. Council member Peggy Sluder made the motion to offer $6,000 per acre for six acres, totaling $36,000 in a one time payment. The motion carried. The Greene County Volunteer Center is organizing a day for paying tribute to Sept. 11 victims and first responders. According to Kristy Lewellyn, the Community Outreach Coordinator for the GCVC, the day is meant to unite the county.
