Area high schools to offer dual credit biotechnology courses through Ivy Tech

Several area high schools will start offering students the opportunity to take dual credit courses through Ivy Tech and earn free college credit this spring semester. New county maps available this week

A project several years in the making will finally come to a head this week with the new Greene County maps expected to be in the auditor’s office soon. Greene County Auditor Patty Baker told the Board of Commissioners Tuesday the new maps, printed by Mapping Solutions, will be available this week. Saturday, April 8 Lyons Legion Post 479 will host karaoke night from 8 p.m. to midnight with services provided by Jim Dandee. Open to the public on Saturdays. Smoking allowed on patio only. Linton American Legion Post 22 will host the band Heartbeats, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the public is welcome and invited to attend. Newberry Festival will hold a fundraiser from noon - 5 p.m. in the Newberry Park. Menu will be chicken and noodles, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, desserts and tea for donation only. The Bloomfield-Eastern Greene Public Library will host Wine and Cheese in the Stacks from 6-8 p.m. Tickets: $15/single $25/couple. Must be 21+. Contact Beth 812-384-4125 for questions.
