Lady Wolverines battle with true grit to sweep Union

DUGGER -- The Lady Wolverines overcame injuries and a hard-hitting Union softball team Friday evening to win a softball doubleheader on the road. White River Valley (5-3) defeated Union (1-2) 13-9 in the first game of the doubleheader and then won 6-4 in a game called after five innings because of encroaching darkness. Eastern girls romp in four-way track meet

The Lady Thunderbirds easily triumphed in a quadrangular track meet Monday evening at Loogootee. Eastern scored 110.5 points to win the meet followed by Bloomfield, 62.5 points; Washington Catholic, 13; and Loogootee, 12. The Lady T-Birds won 12 out 15 events and Bloomfield won the other three.
