Glenna Kay Robinson, 66, of Jasonville, passed away at her residence on June 20, 2017. She was born on February 4, 1951 in Wheatland to Elmer Glen and Delores Mae (Renner) Clark. Glenna was a homemaker and enjoyed being around her family. Surviving are her children, Pamela Kay (Raymond) Stroud of Washington, Shannon Jean (Michael) Downey of Vincennes, Billie Jo Jarrell of Paris, IL’ and Angel Lynn Stewart of Jasonville; a step son, Marvin James (Wendy) Robinson of Vincennes; a sister, Norma Jean Davis of Wheatland and her children, Amy, Jennifer, Michele, and Julie; her grandchildren, Ashley Julian, Christofer Sprinkle, Michael Downey II, Jordan Robinson, Caleb Sprinkle, Cody Julian, Skye Stewart, Gracie Downey, Kade Stewart, and Gunner Jarrell; and her great grandchildren, Lukas, Dixie, Daytona, Josie, Jaxson, Aven, and Layla.. ...

Parade choices reflect Winning Spirit

The 112th Annual Linton Freedom Festival parade brought the crowds, who lined the parade route Tuesday in Linton. “Winning Spirit” was this year’s parade theme and that spirit was evident in the majority of entries. Parade judges Marty Combs, Saundra Lange and Jesse Walker awarded Best Overall Float to Richard Brown Insurance, who chose a “Ghostbusters” theme...

Minor injuries sustained during Linton fireworks display

Linton Fire Chief Brad Sparks confirmed a few people sustained minor injuries during the Linton Freedom Festival fireworks display Tuesday night. Sparks said there were 8-10 people with "minor burns" after the incident happened. According to the fire chief, one of the fireworks went up into the air, but did not go off. It instead fell to the ground where it triggered and went off. Sparks said the firework went under one of the vehicles, which is what he believes prevented worse injuries...
