The White River Valley tennis team met its match Thursday. The Wolverines ran into a powerhouse Northeast Dubois squad on the road at Dubois and were shut out by the Jeeps 5-0. “We ran into a buzzsaw tonight,” WRV tennis coach Jimmy Beasley said. The visiting Hutsonville Tigers had more bite than the Bulldogs’ bark Thursday at Dugger. Hutsonville earned a three-set win over the Dugger Union Lady Bulldogs volleyball team 25-13, 25-18 and 25-12. “We had a rough night with injuries and sickness,” Dugger coach Lois Astleford said. “Tonight was tough but the girls showed they can play against anyone. They played together as a team like I asked.”...

George H. Griffith, 76, of Linton, passed away with his loving family at his side, on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at Bloomington. He was born on Feb. 8, 1941 in Langeloth, Pa. to Henry P. and Lenora Mae (Rudy) Griffith. George married his sweetie, Ethel (Mowery) McDonald Griffith on Dec. 23, 2012...
