Darla Bent, organizer of the Bloomfiled Apple Festival’s Apple Baking contest for 30 years, along with helper Kendra Gadberry, a 2016 BHS graduate, spent Saturday at the Apple Festival surrounded by the heady smells of fresh-baked apples. Civitan makes major progress with ‘Building ‘62’ in Linton (Local News ~ 10/09/17)

Colts name Paridaen Coach of the week (High School Sports ~ 10/09/17)
The Indianapolis Colts on Monday named Eastern’s Joey Paridaen Coach of the Week. A press release from the Colts said the organization selected Paridaen after Eastern defeated Linton, the ninth-ranked team in Class 2A, 35-12 Friday night. The release also noted the Thunderbirds (8-0 and ranked third in Class 1A football) have won their first eight games for the first time in school history...
