Linton holiday trash pick-up

The City of Linton has announced it’s holiday trash pick-up schedule for the upcoming holiday week. There will be no trash pick-up on Wednesday, July 4. Wednesday trash will be picked up on Thursday, July 5. Thursday and Friday trash will be picked up on Friday, July 6. Residents who have their trash picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays will not be affected by this change. Residents are advised the trash crew will be running early on Thursday and Friday...

I have no clue if Mayor John Wilkes is inside, overseeing a project somewhere in town or attending a conference. But I can assure my employees he’s not sharing on TV, the radio, social media or in our newspaper that we’re “The enemy of the state.” Wilkes doesn’t always agree with what’s in the newspaper. Miles for Moms: Color run to raise money for Pregnancy Choices

Pregnancy Choices will be hosting its first fundraising color run with a pregnancy theme. The three-lap Miles for Moms Color Run -- representing the three trimesters of pregnancy -- will be Friday, Aug. 3 at 6:30 at Linton’s Humphreys Park.
