Students in Kelly Cochren’s Life Skills class at Bloomfield Jr/Sr High School worked for weeks to make colorful and cheery Christmas ornaments to sell with the goal of raising funds to help children at Riley Hospital. “We were discussing what we should ‘give back’ this holiday season,” Cochren said. “And Steve Drake came up with the idea of providing toys for children who might not get any at Christmas. They all agreed we wanted to ‘give back’ to Riley Hospital.”...

He was born in Switz City, on June 15, 1930, the son of John E. and Margaret Hazel (Justus) Miller. He was married to Marilyn (Newman) Miller on Sept. 13, 1952 by Rev. Royden Rea. Veda L. Pope, age 98, of Avon, formerly of Linton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Hendricks Regional Hospital. She was born in Lyons on July 13, 1920, the daughter of Ralph Wallingford and Orlie Jane (Fields) Wallingford.
