Good defensive effort and balanced scoring helped the Shakamak Lakers (4-14, 1-4 SWIAC) prevail 54-25 over the North Central Thunderbirds (4-11, 0-5). No Laker scored in double figures but eight players tallied five or more. Bryant Pilant came off the bench to toss in a career-high eight points tying Devin Stienstra for team honors. The Linton Miners picked up a second blowout win on the road this weekend Saturday at North Knox. The Miners (15-2) had little difficulty dispatching the North Knox Warriors (3-14) cruising to a 72-30 win. For the second straight night Lincoln Hale led the Miners with 25 points, matching his total from the previous night’s 83-56 win at Eastern Greene.
