UPDATED: Motor vehicle accident claims the life of one teen; leaves another hospitalized

According to a press release issued by the Greene County Sheriffs Department, a single-vehicle accident has claimed the life of 18-year old Caleb Schmidt of Bloomfield and put the vehicle’s driver, 16-year old Devon Hays of Bloomfield in IU Health Bloomington with serious injuries. The GCSD release states the accident occurred Dec. 23 at 9:34 p.m. at the intersection of Antioch Rd. and Martin Rd. in Bloomfield.
