Alex Overman just completed her sophomore season at Linton and is quickly making waves in the summer travel season. Overman pitched three shutouts to lead her travel ball team, Lady Hawks Elite, this past weekend. The Greene County Veterans Council, a group that meets monthly at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Linton, exists solely to assist Greene County’s 2,700 veterans. The many ways in which the council helps veterans are through transportation to the V.A. Hospital in Indianapolis and other appointments, planning and carrying out services on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, helping vets navigate health care insurance and other issues and providing supplies and services to veterans in need... -
Brown Scholarship awarded for 2020-21 (Local News ~ 06/10/21)
A group of local students became a part of the elite after they were each awarded the $10,000 Brown Scholarship. The scholarship, awarded annually to two students, was not given last year due to the pandemic. As a result, the 2020 recipients were notified this year of their awards along with the 2021 winners.
