Kathleen (Kate) King, 82, of Scotland, passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Oct. 18, 1924 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Jesse Brown and Emma Jane (Hamilton) Padgett.
She was a homemaker and attended Scotland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda and her husband Bill Quakenbush of Scotland and Connie and her husband Mark Berg of Dalton, Ohio; three sisters, Verniece Summerville of Scotland, Madge Haywood of Bloomfield, and Floella Walters of Bloomfield; one brother, Jack Padgett of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Gerald Britton in 1985 and Herbert H. King in 2003, three sons, Lee Roy, Dave, and Vernon, two brothers, Ventson and Alvin, and one sister, Oneita Alexander.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkin's & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be in Scotland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Monday) and one hour prior to service Tuesday at the funeral home.
