She was born Dec. 10, 1920 in Owen County, to Dora "Doc" and Amanda Jane (Halderman) Shouse.
She was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for several years. She was also a woman's leader of Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. in Owen County and member of Busy Bees Home Economics Club in Coal City.
She is survived by one son, Gary D. (Linda) Hauser, Belvidere, IL; one daughter, Sharon A. (Doug) Dalton, Coal City; seven grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer) Hauser, Jeffrey (Karen) Hauser, Latrisha (Greg) Sproul, Daniel (Kathy) Hauser, Amy (Randy) Willms, Angela (Dan) Trojan and Timothy (Sally) Dalton; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother, William Parker Shouse, Coal City; one sister, Rosemary Kincaid, Bloomington; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Theodore H. "Ted" Hauser, Oct. 29, 1987; four brothers, Lowell, Russell, Johnny Shouse, and infant brother Carl; four sisters, Opal Heaton, Florence Stump Sinders and Blanche Royer Crawford.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with Tim Williams and Brett Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Monday until time of service.
Memorials may be given to Antioch Christian Church.
