He was born September 27, 1929, to George E. and Elsie A. (Marsik) Davidek.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War. He later became a truck driver and retired in 1987. He was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, the American Legion Post No. 22, and the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1434.
Survivors include his companion, Lorene Frank of Linton; five sons: George E. (Donna) Davidek, II of Marco Island, FL, James W. (Deborah) Davidek of Auburn, WA, Jerry (Linda) Davidek of Bolingbrook, IL, William (Kelli) Davidek, of Bolingbrook, IL, and Edward (Becky) Davidek, II of Bolingbrook, IL; one daughter, Karen (Mike) Walker of Gatlinburg, TN; one sister Georgia A. (Louis) Violet of Cornell, WI; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home in from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The funeral service will begin at 11a.m. with Rev. David Tyra officiating. Military honors will be given at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service. Interment will take place at Marion National Cemetery in Marion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church in Linton.
