Kenneth Butler, 79, of Terre Haute and formerly of Dugger, passed away at 10:02 p.m. Monday July 16, 2007 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born in Sullivan Co., Indiana May 26, 1928 to Oliver Butler and Clara Vaught Butler.
A 1947 graduate of Union High School in Dugger, he retired as school bus driver for the Vigo County School Corporation and was a member of the Dugger Masonic Lodge No. 721.
He is survived by one son, Randall A. Butler and wife Joanne of West Terre Haute; two daughters; Sheila Shorter and husband Dave of Terre Haute, and Dianna Clapp and husband Paul of Terre Haute; one sister, Vada Hawk of Sullivan; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild, five step-great grandchildren; and his former wife, Barbara Robson Butler.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Dale Butler, Oliver Butler Jr. (Shorty), Con Butler, Kyle Butler, and Hal Dean Butler; and two sisters; Lucille Vickory, and Louise Wilson.
The Dugger Masonic Lodge No. 721 will have a Masonic service at 2 p.m. Saturday followed by a memorial service with Pastor David Clapp officiating at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.
