Mary Barnes, 88, of Terre Haute, passed away at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Davis Gardens Health Care Center.
Born in Midland on May 17, 1919, she was the daughter of Oliver Ray and Mabel Newsome Doyle.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and retired from the food services division of Indiana State University.
Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Lawrence Barnes, Sr., whom she married on Sept. 30, 1937; a daughter and son-in-law Norma and James Cox, of Terre Haute; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Barnes, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Oregon; and sister-in-law Lucy Doyle of West Virginia; grandchildren, Michael Hendrickson, Gregory Henderickson an wife, Leslie, and Lori Oxendine, all of Terre Haute, Melissa Zwicker and Becky Burnell of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Matthew Hendrickson, Marc Hendrickson, Brooke Oxendine, Brian Oxendine, Lindsey Hendrickson, Haley Hendrickson, Travis Hendrickson, all of Terre Haute, Parker Zwicker and Victoria Zwicker of Oregon; and Ryan Reece; and her great-great grandson, Dominic Peak.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Pastors Bert Baker and Bob Parker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
